The Sundboat, or Sundbåten, is a trademark of the town and the Kristiansunders are very proud of its long tradition on the harbour. Like the cable cars in San Francisco, the Sundbåt is amongst the world's oldest public transport companies still in operation, established in 1876.
The islands - what to see
At Innlandet you will find a lot of old homes dating back to 1700 and 1800 hundred. Nordlandet church has a nice viewpoint. At Gomalandet you will find old shipyards, warehouses and in the summer the Klippfishmuseum is open. Kirkelandet is the main island with shops and "down town", Kirkelandet church and Vanndamman for nice walks.
Prices NOK 35,- for a round trip OR to whatever island you choose to get off. If you go on board again you will pay another NOK 35.- If you like to hop on / off we recommend our day pas NOK 100,- and you can travel as much as you like the whole day.
Senior prices is only available for citizens.
Children NOK 20,- from age 4 to 15.
